HOMELESS HEALTHCARE

Helping the homeless to access healthcare services

Chris was signposted to us by a Changing Lives Outreach worker due to an assault a few days prior.

Chris attended the drop-in clinic to seek assistance for aches and pains sustained from a previous assault. He had obvious facial injuries consistent with an assault and related symptoms.

Chris consented to a full clinical and physical examination, which recognised several minor injuries and mild concussion.

The physical examination revealed number of serious health concerns, that required urgent treatment, a moderate chest infection and a possible deep vein thrombosis.

Following review at the local Emergency Department, he was admitted for treatment and care for 5 weeks, due to a cardiac infection and deep vein thrombosis.
